By default clear type is not enabled in Windows XP. Clear type greatly increases the legibilty of fonts on the screen. Here is a link to enable this feature.
Ubuntu Linux Live CD and Usb Drive Installation
Jul 25th
We had a call today about booting Linux from a usb drive. As with most people who only dabble in Linux I recommend Ubuntu as the most headache free solution out there.
“Ubuntu is a community developed, Linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers. It contains all the applications you need – a web browser, presentation, document and spreadsheet software, instant messaging and much more.”

Here are three great ways to try this free operating system:
1. You can install Ubuntu in windows and run it just like any other program.
2. I was sent a link on Life Hacker that seems to be the easiest way to install Ubuntu on a usb drive (Gotta love Linux gurus.)
3. If youwant to try Unbuntu from cd you can boot to a Live CD and use the operating system without any repartitioning.
