Streaming YouTube
Sep 2nd

It has been reported that Google is in talks with Hollywood studios to launch an international pay-per-view video service at the beginning of 2011. If it happens, YouTube will transform into a serious contender in streaming rental movies. Look out Netflix!
People close to the talks say that Google is pitching to the movie industry that “the global appeal of a streaming on-demand movie service” tied to the world’s most popular search engine and YouTube, will attract a “gigantic number” of people. To put it in a nut shell, Google believes that YouTube and Hollywood would be pretty amazing together. Prices per rental aren’t set yet but it’s expected to be around $5 dollars a rental.
Negotiations between Google and the movie industry have been going on for a while now but have picked up the pace in recent weeks . If the reports are correct, combined with the future Google TV, this deal could turn Google into a real contender in digital media sales, and a major competitor to Apple in another market.
McAfee: Cameron Diaz is Most Dangerous Celeb
Aug 25th
We know by now that it’s not uncommon for cybercriminals to target star-struck fans looking for pictures, videos andscreensavers of their favourite athletes, film starts and musicians. But who’s the biggest risk when looking to Google for celebs to oogle? McAfee has released its annual list of the most dangerous celebrities to search for if you’re hoping to avoid malware, and top of the list is Cameron Diaz.
Diaz bumped last year’s most dangerous celebrity, A-Team leading lady Jessica Biel, off of the top spot, as McAfee discovered that one in ten results for ‘Cameron Diaz’ leads web users to a risky website. Combine Cameron Diaz with one of McAfee’s ‘most dangerous search terms’ such as “screensaver,” and the chance of encountering malicious websites rises by 19 percent.

Check out the top ten below:
10. Anna Paquin
09. Heidi Klum/Penelope Cruz
08. Tom Cruise
07. Jennifer Love Hewitt / Nicole Kidman
06. Adriana Lima
05. Brad Pitt
04. Gisele Bündchen
03. Jessica Biel
02. Julia Roberts
01. Cameron Diaz
Sli and Crossfire Speed Comparisons
Aug 25th
Our friends at Hardocp.com have been testing different Pci Express speeds on SLI and Crossfire video card configurations and there results are pretty interesting if you are looking to use multiple video cards anytime soon.
“The results are actually a bit shocking to us to be honest. We weren’t so surprised that in the previous evaluation x8/x8 did not cause any differences at 2560×1600 but did at 5760×1200. However, we thought certainly at x4/x4 PCIe 2.0 mode there would be some kind of a bottleneck at 2560×1600, but the results have proven otherwise. Even with all the data that GTX 480 SLI is pushing across the PCIe bus, x4/x4 is NOT a bottleneck in a single display setup at 2560×1600 with AA enabled. The only game to show us any difference was AvP, but it did not affect the gameplay experience. Therefore, if you are on an aging PCIe 1.X system at x8/x8 mode (equivalent to PCIe 2.0 x4/x4) on a single display fear not, you are not holding back the performance of GTX 480 SLI or we guess with any CrossFireX or SLI configuration.”
